Good morning campers
My early morning didn’t go to plan it is 11.45. I am having a rather smashing day so far though. My new year’s resolution was to lose 35lbs/2 and a half stone. I did get quite big my size 12s were snug. I refuse to buy bigger clothes, so New Year I got started on my diet. Today I weighed myself and I have lost 21lbs/a stone and a half. I am so pleased! I am lucky enough to have a rather luxurious gym membership courtesy of my Daddy. To here

I have this membership instead of Christmas presents which I don’t mind! They have an array of classes and are open from around 6 in the morning to midnight. I hate to be the bearer of bad news to anyone who wants a quick fix to weight loss and a healthy life but I honestly have just eaten healthy and exercised. A subscription to Zest magazine is also a good motivator every month. Until around March I went to the gym 4 times a week. I also swim which I counted as a gym session. I did at least 45 minutes of hardcore cardio. I have a heart rate monitor and ensured I was working out in my 60-80% maximum heart rate. This is your “fat burning” zone. I also weight trained to give my body a better shape and help maintain my weight loss. I did this around twice a week. Basically I just did my weights on my resistance days before cardio. If you do cardio first your body tends to be focusing on your cardio vascular system and getting everything moving, thus burning muscle. By doing resistance (weights) first the body starts to repair muscles and does not burn them. I also love running which I think is awesome. I can run for miles with my Staffordshire bull terrier in tow. She loves coming with me although she doesn't look too happy there lol --
My furthest was around 6 miles in an hour burning 750 calories. More than a Big Mac! Regarding calories I started off with 1500 per day however this week I have had an average 1710 per day as I eat when I am hungry. Oh, and also I write down everything I eat with a weightless resources food and exercise daily diary.
Sometimes you need to realise how much you have actually ate! I am currently working out around 6 days a week purely because I love it. Running is amazing on a lovely day there are lots of lovely canal paths and Chase Water near my house – This is my favourite place.

The gym for resistance (weight training) swimming – I love the pool! And more recently Body Pump. Body Pump is an all over weights work out. It is brilliantly taught in my gym and has a great atmosphere. For anyone who wants to lose weight I’d recommend looking round gyms for one you like the most. Not only is it great for your health but it is also very social. There is a Starbucks at my gym with members congregate and discuss classes etc. It might all sound expensive but it really isn’t. Apart from university I spend most of my time at the gym, working out and meeting new people. I love being out doors and in the summer I don't think I will be spending much time at the gym at all. It is all about finding something you enjoy.
I'm also trying to enroll at college to start my personal training qualification. I would love to help people feel good about them selves, get healthy and add a few more years to their lives!! So this is my weight loss journey so far in a nut shell. :)
